It's that time of year again. Marzipan, chocolate, and Sinterklaas!

Talk back!
I'm really looking forward to seeing some Marzipan pictures :-)

@Nancy: It's face paint. They are dressed up like Black Pete, the helper of Sinterklaas.

Great shots. Are the children's faces smeared with dirt, or chocolate perhaps? Is this some tradition? Being a mother of three myself i can't believe I just asked that. Yes, dirt is a traditional childhood accompaniment as I know all too well.

Marzipan is an almond/sugar mix for making sweets.

When Marcel's sister got married, instead of icing, her cake was covered in Marzipan and decorative roses made from Marzipan.

During this time of year you can buy it in different animal and fruit shapes. As a matter of fact, I was out this afternoon looking for some objects to photograph.

Wow! Sinterklaas is here already? We saw him arrive in Amsterdam last year. My daughter loved seeing him. We now incorporate Sinterklaas in our holiday celebrations here in the U.S.
